A Non-Spoiler Synopsis
Isaiah Johanssen and Robyn Cassidy have been friends ever since bonding over their love of rugby in college. Isaiah knew he wanted Robyn’s friendship after hearing her belt out her rendition of a dirty rugby song with a women’s spin on it.
Their friendship grew to love but the stars never aligned for them in school. But Isaiah has never given up on his love for her and when his life is turned upside down, he takes an opportunity to get close to Robyn again.
Now a professional rugby player, Robyn is determined to turn her crush on Isaiah into a relationship. Despite the confidence she displays on the field and to her dedicated social media following, she finds herself feeling awkward and unsure as to how to show Isaiah how she feels.
The curveball neither of them expected was Dell, Robyn and Isaiah’s personal trainer. Fun and flirty Dell is determined to help Robyn get her confidence back. Who better to be her flirt coach? Never mind the fact that Dell has a crush on both of them.
My thots on the smut and vibes of “Every Move You Make” (light spoilers)
This was my first time reading a book by Sloan Spencer and I was hooked! This why choose romance was filled with flirty banter that made me kick my feet and the spicy scenes did not disappoint.
One trigger warning that I’d like to point out is that there is stalking depicted in this novel, but I appreciate that Sloan Spencer gave a trigger warning at the beginning of the book. Isaiah has been monitoring Robyn’s social media since collage and actively reports negative comments (from a burner account) and has used his position as a club security worker to cock block her for years.
Now with that out of the way, this book was such a fun read! As a reader you get to experience how each crush and relationship unfolds. Robyn and Isaiah friends to lovers journey begins in collage with their shared love of rugby. The timing never worked out, but Robyn is determined to show Isaiah how she feels. Little does Robyn know that Isaiah took their marriage pact seriously and sees her as his end game love.
Then in walks Dell, who may be my favorite character. He is a bisexual king who is a master flirt and dominant. Through Dell and Robyn’s relationship we have a fun fake dating moment when Dell is instructing Robyn on how to flirt and feel confident with men. Despite his best intentions the fake dating feels a little too real and he can’t deny (and neither can Robyn) their feelings and attraction.
Dell dominant sexual nature allows him to see what each partner needs. Robyn has a princess/praise kink and by contrast Isaiah has a slight degradation kink. This book may have some of the best cuckoldry scenes I have ever read, where Dell not only gets Isaiah off on watching Dell pleasure Robyn but forces Isaiah to open up to Robyn about his feelings.
This book features spicy scenes with each double (i.e. Dell and Isaiah, Isaiah and Robyn, and Dell and Robyn) as well as very spicy scenes of the three of them together. I highly recommend this book if you like why choose romance, threesomes, BDSM, cuckoldry, witty banter, and highly spicy books.
